PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Nathanael Pennington’s role as director with Newmark Knight Frank Smith Mack includes tenant representation and corporate services, with a very selective involvement as an advisor to landlord clients.

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank Smith Mack, Nathanael was senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle where he engaged in all aspects of commercial office leasing, tenant representation, agency and strategic consulting while transitioning to Philadelphia from New York where he worked from 1999-2008 as a commercial broker.

He began his real estate career in development with Miles Katzen (MSK Associates), a prominent Philadelphia developer. In 1999, he was the senior financial analyst for the real estate division of The Omnicom Group, the world’s fourth largest holding company of advertising firms. In that position, Nathanael’s responsibilities included the financial modeling of acquisitions and commercial lease obligations worldwide. He then became a director with the top producing Lower Manhattan team of Cushman & Wakefield for over five years and was a member of the World Trade Center Freedom Tower advisory team.

Some of Nathanael’s prominent corporate clients have included Symantec, Mitsubishi Securities, Mitsubishi UFJ Bank & Trust Corp., Sallie Mae, Yellow Pages Group of Canada, Marcum, Waste Management of PA., Sabre / Travelocity, Kaplan, Qlik Technologies, Inc. and Bank of New York Mellon. Nathanael’s experience representing institutional owners of real estate gives him a unique ability to advise his tenant clients. He represented over 4 million square feet of commercial real estate including four trophy Class A properties in Lower Manhattan's financial district between 2001 and 2008 and negotiated over 900,000 SF of commercial leases alone in 2006-2008.

Nathanael is a licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania and New York.  He speaks French and actively supports The British American Business Council, FIAF, the American Red Cross, the Smile Train and Westtown School.
