Professional Background
As Senior Director at Newmark Knight Frank Smith Mack, Steve is principally responsible for providing real estate-related services to corporate and institutional property owners and occupiers, commercial and industrial real estate developers – and to banks and lenders that provide financing for commercial and industrial properties.
His expertise covers a full spectrum of services including Property Brokerage, Tenant and Buyer Representation, Corporate Services, Counseling, Litigation Support and Expert Testimony, and Asset Recovery and Receivership.
Steve was President of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® in 2001, President of Corfac® International in 1990, and President of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors® in 1989. He was a founding member of the TriState Realtors® Commercial Alliance and chaired its Professional Standards Committee. He also served on the Professional Standards Committee of the National Association of Realtors®, and chaired the Professional Standards Committee of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® and was a co-author of the Society’s Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice.
Professional Achievement
Over the course of his career Steve has represented some of the largest corporate and institutional clients in the world – including General Electric, McKinsey & Company, Toys ‘R’ Us, Henkel, TD Bank, First Industrial, The Pep Boys, Freightliner, ConAgra, DP Partners, and Office Depot. He has sold single properties comprising more than 1 million square feet and has been involved in single lease transactions valued at more than $75 million.
Professional Recognition
Steve was recognized by the Philadelphia Board of Realtors® as recipient of its Deal of the Year Award, was designated a Top Producer of Office Transactions, and was honored by the Board as its Realtor® of the Year.
Community Involvement
Steve has participated in a number of community and civic undertakings. He has worked with organizations and programs helping remedy the problem of homelessness in Philadelphia – including Project H.O.M.E., for which he served as a member of its Advisory Board. He was a member of the Management Oversight Committee of the Philadelphia Housing Authority, a Director of the Heart Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and a Director of Philadelphia Neighborhood Enterprise (an affiliate of the Enterprise Foundation). He was appointed to, and served on, two advisory task forces by Philadelphia Mayor Edward Rendell – the Task Force on Taxation and the Task Force on Homelessness. And he was appointed to, and served on, an advisory task force on Agency by the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission.
